A Quezon City court on Wednesday allowed the transfer of road rage suspect Jason Ivler to the Quezon City Jail as soon as he is discharged from the hospital.
Radio dzBB reported that Quezon City Judge Alexander Balut had granted the petition of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) for Ivler's transfer once he gets a clean bill of health from the Quirino Memorial Medical Center (QMMC).
The NBI was thankful for the decision as it cited security reasons for seeking Ivler's transfer to a facility other than its detention cell, according to a report by dzBB's Carlo Mateo.
Ivler is at the Quirino Memorial Medical Center after being wounded in a shootout with NBI agents last January 18.
He faces murder charges for the killing of Victor Renato Ebarle Jr., son of a Palace official, in a traffic incident.
The Quezon City court also ordered QMMC doctors to submit a medical report on Ivler in five days.
The NBI earlier said they were trying to move Andal Ampatuan Jr. — the main suspect in the massacre of 57 people in Maguindanao last November 23 — out of his detention cell at its headquarters to a more secure facility. — NPA, GMANews.TV
